I've felt like Conte this season not sir Alex leading from almost the start to finish. Any chance of some competition next season??? The kohns have now won the last 3 titles so the kirkmans need more preparation work than ever. Me and sam will continue our booze approach. Can't wait for next season for the Yorkshire Championship to start and laugh at all those deluded piggy fans thinking they've got a chance. WAWAW

Well it turned out that Fox News got it right !!

After a high scoring wins for both team in the semi finals, the final was a low-scoring, dour affair.

Ben’s team — Free Full Backs — had a near full house of zero points, with only Delli Alli getting 2 for an assist.

Bodhinaga’s — A Mahrez a Day — did a little better, with points for Fuchs (3), Walcott (3), Ozil (2) offset by Cahill and Clichy each scoring minus —1

So the final score was:

Free Full Backs 2 A Mahrez a Day 6

So, commiserations to Ben on a near miss (a great effort considering he had so many injured players), BUT......

Congratulations to Bodhinaga on getting his hands on the Cup once again. It may be the first leg of a glorious double, though Sir Alex may have something to say about that (as indeed may Jamie).

So that’s it for another Cup year — a pat on the back for the marvellous organisers. See you all ay the next auction.

Well it was back to the quill pen and abacus to work out the scores of the two semi-final matches.

The results (as taken from the Classic Fantasy League web site) are:

Zlat and the BainesStalk (Jamie) 0 vs A Mahrez a Day (Bodhinaga) 14

Cech —2 Fuchs 3
Baines —2 Clichy 3
Sterling 2 Mahrez 3
Sigurdson 2 Lukaku 3
Cabaye 2

Coffin Dodgers (Rob) 0 vs Free Full backs (Ben) 18

O’Shea -1 Tadic 7
McAuley -1 Arnautovic 6
Crouch 2 Alli 5

So, convincing wins for Ben and Bodhinaga mean we have the Kohn/Kirkman final that Fox News predicted, and the footballing world wanted to see.

Next stop Wembley ------> Final to be played over the weekend of Saturday 1st/Sunday 2nd April. May the best team win, AND may the web site be fixed by then !!

The draw for the first round of the 2016/2017 FFL Cup was made this evening at the Kirkman residence.

The balls were placed in a bag and given a good shake, before being drawn out in the following order:

Rob Coffin Dodgers
vs
Bye Bye

Neil Anything but Bottom
vs
Ted Turn the other Loftus

Ed Good Evans that’s Long
vs
Alex Title No 6

Ben Free Full Backs
vs
Carl On Our Way

Bye Bye
vs
Ray Long Pants

Sam One Vogue for Three
vs
Jamie Zlat and the Baines-Stalk

Tilly Tilly's All Stars
vs
Alistair Best of My Arse

Bodhinaga A Mahrez A Day
vs
Jenny The CentreBacks Holding..

So Rob and Ray each get a Bye into the Quarter Finals, while every one else has to play.

The tie of the round pits current League Leader, Alex (Title No 6) against the winner of the FFL Cup for the past two seasons (and undefeated ever in the FFL Cup), Ed (Good Evans That’s Long)
The BBC will want to show that one!

The draw brings us two Kirkman Derby matches (Neil vs Ted, and Bodhinaga vs Jenny) — Merry Christmas Kirkman’s !

The first Round Matches will be played over the period Monday to Wednesday, 2nd, 3rd, 4th January, when there is a full Premier League fixture list
Note: MATCHES PLAYED ON 1st JANUARY WILL NOT COUNT.

So Good Luck to all concerned — may the best teams win — Results out some time on 5th January.

You cant beat Wembley on Cup Final day, the streets thronged with fans — walking down Wembley Way to the stadium, the community singing — Abide with Me, Fast falls the even tide, etc -
the atmosphere inside the stadium — I must go one day.

The 2016 Final of the FFL Cup was a sparkling affair with plenty of points in an open, flowing match........

Ben’s Free Fullbacks managed to accumulate six points courtesy of Williams (1), Sako (2) and Walcott (3).

Ed’s Ramsey’s Nightmares responded with points from Harry Kane (3 for his goal against LFC — Bah), Monreal (3) and Nasri (2).

So the final score was:

Free Fullbacks 6 vs Ramsey’s Nightmares 8

This means that Ed wins the FFL Cup for the second year running (in fact as it stands Ed has NEVER lost a Cup match) - a marvellous achievement worthy of our congratulations.

So well done Ed, don’t forget to bring the trophy with you to the next Auction, for a proper presentation this year !!

All the best
